any idea what the conspiracy charge is? I think the illegal gratuity will be tough because it requires DOJ to prove Fraser did something he wouldn't have done absent a gift. In other words, if his defense can demonstrate he was simply doing his job, ie staffing meetings and giving advice to people, then, depending on the jury, you can expect another Ring outcome.
The false statement is trouble if Fraser plainly lied but plenty of people get tricked into making false statements because of lack of memory, or word games the FBI uses so that could either way and should be pretty easy to figure out if he deliberatly misled, or if DOJ is playing games trying to nail him to save face. I'm most curious in the conspiracy charge though...I can't imagine they'd be relying on HSF... interesting. thanks for the update.
