~FLASH~ Honest Services Fraud Survives

According to the Los Angeles Times, an honest services fraud conviction can be sustained if there is a "bribe or kickback".

I don't think anyone on this planet would agree with you...not even Melanie Sloan. The truth is out, bribery is now the standard - i.e. an acutal crime has to occur. Corruptly ambitious young prosecutors with no trial experience can no longer threaten innocent people with long prison terms under an amorphous statute (which they never defined) in order to coerce them to plea to lighter sentences.

It was a good day for justice and a bad day for the Welch/Day/Morris cabal.
